CISBO PWAS System

On the afternoon of February 2024, a message suddenly popped up on the computer of Sales Representative R at CISBO. The inquiry from Saudi Arabia shattered the tranquility of the afternoon. Sent by the procurement manager of Company A in Saudi Arabia, this seemingly ordinary cross-border inquiry unexpectedly became a pivotal opportunity for CISBO to open the door to the Saudi market and embark on a long-term cooperation journey.
In the subsequent in-depth communication, we further clarified the client’s urgent needs through discussions with the procurement manager and project supervisor. The client planned to launch a large-scale infrastructure construction project in April of the same year, with a duration of one and a half years. However, the impending Saudi heatwave season in June would pose severe challenges to the construction work—not only would the team have to overcome the extreme high-temperature working environment, but they also needed to withstand frequent sandstorms. Potential issues such as circuit failures caused by high temperatures loomed large. Meanwhile, as the project progressed, the complexity of the operation scenarios continued to grow: narrow passages stacked with building materials, construction areas with multi-trade cross-operation, and open-air construction sites requiring night shifts—each location harbored safety hazards caused by visual blind spots. These challenges could directly delay the project schedule. To ensure the on-time delivery of the project, the procurement manager sought solutions from various sources and ultimately identified CISBO, a specialist in the field of vehicle safety electronics, through online research.

Core Challenges of the Project

  • Detection Failure in Desert Environments: Severe sandstorms at construction sites near the Rub’ al Khali Desert obscure visibility, rendering traditional optical devices ineffective instantly. Temperatures exceeding 50℃ degrade the performance of ordinary sensors, drastically reducing detection accuracy.
  • Concentrated Blind Spot Risks: Engineering vehicles frequently operate in tandem with cranes and crawler cranes. Stationary building material piles and moving forklifts within the 40-meter range around the vehicle’s sides and rear are often overlooked due to blind spots, triggering collision accidents.
  • Language Barriers in Multinational Teams: Communication gaps exist among labor teams from different countries. Reliance on hand signals for guidance often leads to misjudgments of blind spot conditions, with risks escalating significantly during night-shift operations.
  • Stringent Requirements for Equipment Reliability: Infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia involve continuous operations. Equipment must withstand extreme temperature fluctuations, as well as dust in industrial cities and corrosive environments in petrochemical zones. Conventional blind spot detection devices suffer from extremely high failure rates.

Core Advantages of CISBO PWAS System
Designed to meet the operational requirements of both open desert areas and narrow passages in industrial cities, it is additionally equipped with a data logging function, which provides a reliable basis for safety review and operation management. The R&D process was extremely arduous. The R&D team not only repeatedly deduced and optimized the scheme in the laboratory, but also made multiple trips to Saudi Arabia for field tests. They adjusted equipment parameters in the scorching midday heat of nearly 50℃, verified detection stability amid sandstorms, and overcame numerous technical challenges through more than two months of continuous intensive work and multiple rounds of rigorous field tests. Eventually, the C58D was perfectly adapted to the extreme construction conditions in Saudi Arabia and officially launched to the market.

  • 77GHz Radar for Precise Detection: Equipped with a high-performance 77GHz millimeter-wave radar, the system accurately identifies stationary and moving targets within a 40m×6m range behind and beside the vehicle. Unaffected by sandstorms or glare, it is fully adaptable to extreme environments.
  • Multi-Level Audible and Visual Alerts: Integrated with a high-definition LED display and a built-in buzzer, the system provides real-time target distance readings on the cockpit screen. Warning sounds intensify as targets draw closer, enabling drivers to perceive risks through both auditory and visual cues—eliminating language-related communication barriers.
  • Adapt Saudi Arabia’s Extreme Operating Conditions: Boasting an IP69K dustproof and waterproof rating, the system resists high-pressure water jet cleaning and heavy desert dust. It performs flawlessly amid the extreme temperature differences between desert nights and midday summers.
  • Flexible Adaptability and Data Logging: With a wide voltage range of 9–30V, the system is compatible with various vehicle models. Its dedicated app allows users to adjust detection ranges to suit both open desert areas and narrow industrial city passages. The built-in data logging function automatically stores target detection and distance data, providing a reliable basis for safety reviews and operational management.

Proven Results

  • 90% Reduction in Blind Spot Accidents: Monthly collision incidents dropped from 15 to just 1, with zero casualties reported.
  • 22% Improvement in Operational Efficiency: The average daily operation trips per vehicle increased from 16 to 19.5. The system maintains stable performance in extreme weather, ensuring uninterrupted project progress.
  • Equipment Failure Rate Below 1%: The system’s continuous operational stability far surpasses that of conventional devices, significantly reducing maintenance costs and downtime by 65%.
  • Enhanced Adaptability for Multinational Teams: Intuitive audible-visual alerts and digital displays have improved coordination efficiency among multi-national teams by 40%, with a marked increase in safety levels during night operations.

Beyond these tangible performance data, the product's stable performance has won unanimous recognition from A Company's management to frontline teams. It not only facilitates the efficient progress of the ongoing project smoothly but also builds a trust bridge for long-term cooperation between CISBO and A Company, laying a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation in the Middle Eastern market. "The application of C58D has completely addressed the safety and efficiency pain points in our project construction, serving as a key guarantee for the smooth advancement of this project!" the project supervisor of Saudi A Company commented at the phased review meeting. Frontline construction workers also felt deeply: "Previously, when operating in narrow passages, we always worried about vehicles approaching from behind; in sandstorm weather, visibility was even more obstructed. Now with this system, we can clearly see the real-time distance behind on the cockpit screen, with timely reminders, making work much more reassuring!"
