New China BSD Regulation Takes Effect in July 2026

China’s compulsory national standard for Blind spot detection system will officially come into force in July 2026. Under the new rule, all newly certified M1 passenger vehicles (fewer than 9 seats) must be factory-fitted with a standard Blind spot detection system.

This mandatory policy greatly fuels domestic market demand. Industry forecasts put China’s BSD market scale at RMB 25.86 billion in 2026, representing a year-on-year growth of 17.5%. The OEM installation rate will jump to 49.1%, rising 12.4 percentage points from 2025.

The regulation also requires supporting functions including RCW Rear Cross-Traffic Warning and DOW Door Open Warning. Most automakers now adopt integrated three-in-one BSD modules to meet unified compliance standards.
